State Manager, Victoria

The role

As a key member of the senior leadership team, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the strategic direction of Keller’s Victorian business. You will develop and execute a clear, focused strategy aligned with Keller’s overarching business objectives. 
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who thrives in managing diverse operations, mentoring teams, and fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the success of the Victorian region by developing, implementing, and maintaining a strategic plan aligned with Keller's business goals
  • Cultivate a high performance, customer focused team culture, upholding the company’s vision, values, and behaviors
  • Effectively manage the work pipeline to deliver results in line with budget and business expectations
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring timely resolution of disputes and maintaining professional partnerships
  • Lead and mentor direct reports to foster a collaborative and operationally excellent team environment
  • Oversee risk identification and management throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with company procedures and authority levels
  • Actively contribute to strategic planning and development as part of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Managing Director

About you

Key requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or geotechnical engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in people management, fostering teamwork, and driving collaboration both regionally and across the business
  • Strong commercial acumen with significant experience in managing projects and client relationships
  • A deep understanding of geotechnical and foundation systems
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and contractual aspects of projects
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional, harmonious relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Previous experience in civil, earth works, ground improvement, piling and geotech projects is highly desirable
